What the heck have you got bolted around your mag well man? Nice set you have there.

Thanks, Progunner! :D

The geegaw on my mag well is a Redi-Mag magazine carrier - carries a spare loaded magazine in tandem on the left of the rifle.

SOP for mag change with Redi-Mag (magazine loaded and locked in Redi-Mag):
Left hand grabs base of fresh mag on left,
Depress mag release with right index finger, empty mag falls clear, fresh mag is released from Redi-Mag carrier at same instant.
Move fresh magazine to mag well, insert, release bolt, engage.

Takes less time to do than type, and makes us mall-ninji look cool. Not to mention it makes the rifle shoot faster, higher CDI factor, etc. I like for gaming, and keeps 2 mags on the weapon in a fast configuration.

Negatives: Adds weight; it's mechanical - could fail; stamped parkerized steel can rust (I painted mine); if you don't grab the fresh spare mag on reload, and press the mag release, both mags fall clear of the rifle. Cost: $65+ for Redi-Mag.

Positives: Fast, Fast, Fast reloads - conserving motion.

Personal: I like it, has worked well for me the last 6 or 7 years. Get it from Brownells, fast shippping.

All the best,

John

I don't know if I'm worthy? :o
