Here's another one. This one I did a W cut on the billet to get the flowers.

7 inch blade Monel Guard, Chalkde Viga handle OAL 12"

Thanks again for looking.

Chuck, This one really is a fine looking knife. I've never heard of that type of wood before. Is the color natural or did you color it?

BTW: I found a good deal on some peanut oil. Plan for today is to forge a small ax but for a warm up I'm going to finish forging a couple blades and give it a try. Actually I'm interested in seeing what it smells like with my nose. :D

Thanks all

The Chalkte Viga is natural color. It actually patinas and gets much darker. The color now is much darker orange red. Thanks for the feedback.

Very cool. I have been wondering how cable would look with an acordian fold, better than I could imagine!

Thanks for the compliments. This was the first real try at an accordian or W patterning. It turned out great. I will be doing some more shortly. I made this one in a 3 inch square tube, I will be making the in a 4 inch square tube. I should be able to get a much denser Flower pattern. I will also be using a bit more of the smaller cable, it seemed to give the best contrast and distinct flowers. It is really fun to play around and experiment with basic materiials. Some wild results may be obtained.
