Built up another survival chest rig.

This one is built from 5.11 gear chest rig panel and 10" x 6" x 3" pouch, and a Tactical Tailor Pistol tether to ensure flashlight (SUREFIRE G2Z-LED) retention.

Its purpose (my purpose) is to carry the ESSENTIALS, to make said essentials READILY ACCESSIBLE, and to ensure 100% gear retention., and low profile for easy woods scrambling.

Modeled by me lovely girlfriend:

Do you know if it's a boy or girl yet? :D

Looks good man. I dunno if I could take a chest rig though, I think the feel of weight in front would drive me crazy. Handy to have all your stuff front and center though.

another nice set up Bushman... i need to put one of those together someday... i like the size of the TT mini-mav..:)

at some point I am going to make an insert for the pouch, to organize (without rattling, moving around) the gear inside. As well as remove one horizontal row of the PALS webbing on the outside front of the pouch, and sew on a big velcro patch,

my idea behind this setup is a rig that anyone can wear, to carry the essential survival gear, and do so comfortably. I can run, drive, motorbike, atv , climb, descend on rope, boat hike etc with this rig. Its always there.

This is very nice, but I also liked that rig you showed a few months back with the shelf that swung down and was suspended horizontally. It looked like a very level map reading surface and a stable platform for working with small gear.

problem i had with that one (HSGI Warlord) was that the actual storage space compared to the actual size of the rig, was very low.

could u please tell me where I can get that tac tailor pistol tether?
great set-up as always!!!!!!!

I use a chest pack for SAR, with a radio, maps, compass and other odds and ends, and ended up with one of the smallest I could find (True North's Stealth harness). The bigger ones get too hot, especially when moving fast in hot weather -- sweat just builds up underneath them, instead of getting a chance to evaporate.

I like the flashlight leash setup, though.

Ordered the same set up last night but could anyone tell me if 5.11 makes one that has a handgun compartment?? After thinking about it Id like to keep my kimber in my chest rig as well. Any ideas?????
Thanks
Danny
