nope, us Canucks get shot on sight if we own handguns.

I am in the process of making an insert for my rig, for survival related items.

here is my insert, made from corrugated plastic sheet, industrial velcro. Everything is velcro'ed in to prevent rattling and loss.

i'm going to approach 5.11 and see if they will make this same pouch, but lined with velcro on the inside, and a velcro panel on the outside.

Interesting setup, thanks for posting the pics. Do you also carry a pack to hold an insulating layer while walking, like a fleece jacket and rain gear?

nope.

UnderArmour cold shirt, down vest, CDN forces fleece or SAS sweater. Can't stand jackets, cant stand rainwear. Prefer to move fast, silent and light. The vest and fleece have elbow to waist pit zips to vent sweat, and the combo is very warm when the pits are zipped. I will grudgingly put on a jacket if its really pissing.....

I like the philosophy. Fast and light is a good way to go. Have to go one way or the other and you seem to have this one down pretty well.

^ yea i saw that one, but damn its massive (front to back depth). I do look forward though to seeing a in depth review with lots of photos when you get it! I'll probably buy one anyways for kicks and giggles. One can never have too much gear.

When I get 5.11 to make the custom pouch, i'm also reducing the depth from 3" to 1", so it sits flatter on the chest. I'll have to strip down the gear some more, not a bad thing. If i can get the full load out to less than 1 lb i'll be happy.
