Im pretty bad at coming up with names for knives.. so here is a large chopper! :D

Specs:

1/4'' 1095 at ~ 58 RC
OAL ~ 18''
11 1/2'' cutting edge
Tapered tang

Kydex sheath. (Still in progress. Please allow 3 days to complete)

Forest Green G10 handle
Carbon fiber pins
Blue Glow Kirinte

Im not too sure on the weight of the this blade.. really need a scale!!

Would you mind sharing a little about how you heat treat your blades? While I don't have the money now, I do really like the look of this and would like to know more about it. Just beautiful.

Nope, this is a "real hamon! Its just not as refined as some of the professionals.. but i like the look!

As for heat treat with 1095, i am sure there are a few different ways, but this is how i do it:

-Rough grind the blade profile, bevels and drill out the tang for handle scales
-Triple normalize (It relieves any stress in the steel after working with it, and allows for the maximum hardness when quenching. Atleast i think ;) lol
-For the hamon i coat the spine and the tang of the blade in furnace cement (high temp) I let dry over night
-I then bring up to temp. and quench in maxim oil (Parks 50) followed by 2-3 tempering cycles depending on what knife i am heat treating

I am glad to see this sold. I was coming back to thread to buy it after I told my self over and over I spent too much and shouldn't but it was calling. Beautiful blade.
