Once again 1095 with some beautiful burled ash with very thin dark green liners, screws are polished with a application of black chromed. The lanyard is kangaroo leather with a decorative bead with a hand carved bone skull.

Thanks
Spencer

Nice, Bro! That's one of your finest for sure!! I'm really impressed with your lanyard treatment. Can we get a better look at how you attached it?

BTW: Howdja like that hand finishing?

Curt, I used the mill on the handles. I had to see the doctor yesterday, I may have a detached tendon on my middle finger I am looking at some surgery quite possibly I will find out more next week. I finished them in spite of that...whats a guy to do?

Fancy! I like what you've done. Sorry about the birdie! You'll have to tell me I'm #1 later i guess.:p

I'm guessing Corbe will be handling the leather dress for this one as well?

I'm hoping your tendons get put back where they belong soon. :(

Your most recent wharnies look excellent!

Thanks for the positive feedback, there is a few changes to be made but overall the design is solid. The goal was met to produce a knife or knives that are kind of elegant? This is the fixed blade version of the inter frame lock-backs that I will be learning to build next week. I am excited to say the least to learn from a old school maker, one thing I have already learned from him is to remain humble in this journey called knife making.

Here is a morning shot outside

Beautiful work Spencer! The whole package is very appealing to me. There seems to be no place for the eyes to rest. Anything I admire particularly just leads to another.

This design is sleek for sure. I wouldn't personally call it elegant. It is one of my favorite of your patterns.

Well not certain on numbers but of the 40 or 50 replies across many forum boards the word "Elegant" has popped up many times?:D

A quick definition

"elegant: adj. [common; from mathematical usage] Combining simplicity, power, and a certain ineffable grace of design."

But I understand what you are saying, like I said this is the fixed blade version wait till you see the interframe lock back.

All this carbon steel work is practice for something quite big, why else would I be looking for a piece of bitchin koa wood that is 35" long:cool: ( Ihave found just that piece)

Thanks Keith

Hey, Mr Elegant Knifemaker!!

Great Work!!!!!!!!!!!!

....... but what did you think of the knife?

Spencer

I think the handle looks like a beautiful piece of wood on similar shape as my Flexcut wood carving knives.

Which is sort of odd, because you have a great fighting knife blade shape, and a wood carving handle shape....

The blade does not look like general utility to me...it looks like slicing and stabbing....and THAT requires a bit more of a guard to keep the fore finger from sliding up to the blade....imo

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Look'en good there Spence! You know how much I love a Warnie!!! Now if you would just quit flipping off so many people, "Oh", and may be that other thing you do with it.

May be you could become ambidextrous!!! Mike and Manuela

Hey Steve you caught me, I was looking through woodcarving journal and came across this handle design:D Seriously though I appreciate the feedback, I guess this may be my shortcoming with my design philosophy I make what I want with no regard to well beaten paths followed. Steve I am surely afraid of what you will say when I build my first forged bowie, it's pretty much guaranteed that I will violate all the rules in the classical sense:cool: but you know thats the way SAR custom knives operates.

There is no argument in your knowledge of knives and knife styles and I glad to see you comment on one of my knives thats something that has not happened in many moons, so thanks again for the solid feed back.

Spencer
