What are your thoughts on this anvil. Listed at a very reasonable price. Waiting to hear back from the seller on more info. From the image it looks like it's in great shape.

The edges are pretty chipped up and it doesn't look flat... 'course if it's cheap enough, why not?

Looks a lot like my Trenton. Almost identical. Name would be on the other side. Better shape than mine. If it is the same it's a German one about 1895 vintage.

That would be cool. At this point I'm just hoping to hear from the guy. For that price, I'd almost be willing to buy it even if it's not in too great of condition. It looks to be at least close to 100# and way better than the chunk of cast iron I currently have from HF that is already in worse condition.

Looks like a #75 Vulcan to me. They work fine. I have two of them. #120 is a good price.
If it is a Vulcan, you will see the name and an arm-and-hammer on the other side.

Hope this works out. I messaged the guy 8 mins after posting and finally heard back from him. "You're next in line".....

You have had more than enough advice now :D. Quit waiting around for us to tell you what to do and buy the next good anvil before it is gone. Good anvils don't sit around long.

If you need quick advice, call someone you know up and ask them to go look at the anvil with you.
