Another day out in the woods (pics)

My first duty was in 1/17th back when they were stationed in the tropics, Fort Richardson. When we were cold and miserable one of us would pipe up and say something like, "I heard it was three degrees colder at Wainwright today than at Rich..." and we'd all feel a little bit better. Cold as it was, though, the coldest I ever felt was riding in a Huey with the doors open in Korea in Winter. It wasn't really colder...just a different kind of cold...bitter and wet and it got right into my bones. When things get cold up there, just think, it could be worse...you could be in Korea.

Yeah I hear ya when i was stationed in ft drum i thought i was going to die .

its alot colder here but feels better

Part of the 25 ID?!!
I had no idea.

Richardson the tropics? Haha that's great! You guys take care of yourselves and be safe.

Heathen,

I know...25ID? What the hell is that about? Last thing I heard, AK had been cut to just a brigade under command of 10th Mountain. Neither one makes geographic sense. Bring back the Sixth (The Huntin' and Fishin' Arctic Division). It's the only place in the Army I ever saw: "Fishing pole if licensed" on a ruck packing list.
