Another Dumb Question: What <5" Fixed Blade would you recommend me?

OK , I have just returned from a long disappearance and when I get back, I need some help with a < 5" fixed blade knife, so kindly give your best shot!

I do have SOG SealPup in my mind...
 
The Al Mar SERE Operator now in S30V or the Sog X42 Field in BG-42 are two of the best for the money,both are also full tang with slab handles and can be had for under $150.

If your looking to go lighter than these, the Spyderco Perrin is also very nice and in VG-10.

Another personal favorite of mine is the Benchmade Nimravus in high speed steel(M-2).

The new Northern Light series from Fallkniven look promising also!
 
If you're looking to spend less, then check out the various Short Ka-Bars and the Becker Knife & Tool BK2 Companion or BK10 Crewman.

CRKT Companion for SD, Spyderco Temperance for Utiliy/SD, Spyderco Perrin is a bit larger but suitable for both too. None of them too expensive.
 
The Camillus/Becker BK-10 Crewman, the Gerber Yari, and the Camillus Cuda CQB-2 are 3 of MY favorite sub-5 inch blade FB knives...Either one of those 3 would serve you well.
 
You might want to give a little more about your likes/dislikes, price range, intended usage etc. Having said all that...

If you want to spend a little more the Chris Reeve One Piece Line, has several such as the Shadow Four or Mountaineer 1 or 2 which at 5.5 inches are just a little bit longer, but they're good, tough knives which come shaving sharp.

Grecos Whisper ct for 99 bucks . Sog seal pup loooks kewl. Swamp rat is always a winner ! Or Benchmade Model 140 - Nimravus
