Another fake Buck on eBay?

Gosh, they've got the new Buck boxes copied and everything.

If you send Joe an e-mail he'll pass it along to the fake-chasers at Buck.

The e-Bay will need to hear from them before they'll shut it down.

This is really sad, and is why I don't purchase from E-Bay.
Also, if you look at the listing for steel, that is a pretty big give away.

Buck can have e-Bay pull the auction.

If the seller is persistent he can put it up again under a new name.

Then the game of Whack a Mole starts.

It all depends on whether or not Buck wants to play that game......maybe they don't much care.

I asked the seller why there is a Buck logo on a knife they don't make. I will report them next. I also sent Joe a link. Maybe some of you could ask the seller as well.

Whack a mole...well put! :) Thats exactly what it feels like to. I send the links to our legal guy. We get them shut down, they pop up again. I dont see it going away or getting better but we have to keep going after them.
Thanks for the links!

At 6:25 AM this miorning, I sent that seller my standard message:

"Dear sugar_tang_2011,

As I'm sure you already know, the knife that you are listing as a Buck brand knife is a counterfeit. I'm a life member of the Buck Collectors Club and have a close relationship with the company and members of their Executive board.
I'm sure that you are going to tell me that some Buck knives are made in China which is true, but your's is not one of them, it is a cheap counterfeit. I have access to every Buck catalog going back over 20 years and I can assure you that I know what I'm talking about. The knife is not a Buck brand knife and never was.

A link to your auction has been forwarded to the staff at Buck Knives Inc. and you can expect them to have eBay close down your listings for selling counterfeits and for copyright and trademark infringement. I have also notified eBay of your fraudulant listing."

I don't know for sure that it did the job, but the auction is now ended with no buyer and has not been relisted.

It was well-put because you were the one who originally used "Whack a Mole" to describe the problem a while back. I just used your own words.

:)

At least one was purchased by a BCCI Board of Directors member and positive feedback to the seller given!!

Maybe he started a collection of Buck Fakes.

I'm sure he's not the first.

Some of them will be extremely rare.
