I pulled the old "thats not a buck but a counterfiet" routine for the same knife a couple weeks ago, I was told thank you and they closed the auction. You'll never believe it but the same knife showed up under a different asian market seller.
Damn shame that's a fake. The knife iitself looked nice, and if it were a real Buck, should have performed well (and stylishly) in 420HC, not that PoS 3Cr13. Maybe Buck should look at making a knife like that (but real, of course).
Thank you, Gentlemen. I was perusing the boards here last evening and saw this thread, didn't even know there were fake Bucks, and lo and behold, here was the very knife I was the high bidder on! So I contacted the seller to retract my bid and contacted Ebay about the item, and the seller changed it to this new listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-bowie-outdo...s=63&clkid=1813197983023417365#ht_1167wt_1158
He used a black or silver-black marker to erase the "Buck" from the box and from the Blade (I don't think it's photoshopped), so he's marketing it at least a little more honestly. But thanks again, all.
I scanned this thread earlier and decided to take a look for myself. Look what I found http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Kershaw...656?pt=Collectible_Knives&hash=item4ab6866be0
Sorry, don't know how to post the link properly. In five minutes I saw fake Bucks, Gerbers, and this. Really tics me off. Anyone know if the REAL manufacturers have an easy way to report this crap. It probably would be a good idea to have a forum dedicated to just that as we could all join in a truly epic game of whack-a-mole
