I don't think you're allowed to post links to live auctions. Letting ya know before the mods take action.

I think you can if you're warning others about a fake.

I don't usually buy there, but thanks for giving the room a heads up franzdom.

edit- did you report it to ebay?

I got warned for posting a link to a fake on the basis that it was "deal spotting." I disagreed, but they didn't take it back.

How do you know it's a fake? I don't own and sebenzas but that looks pretty real. How can you tell the difference between this one and a real one?

I can't tell that it's fake. To me it just looks like a beater with crappy pics.

The lanyard pin needa a dimple, lack of idaho made, wrong profile in inside of scales, blade shape esp around cutout bottom near pivot.

The marks along the secondary bevel look like grinder marks that you see on lower end production knives. Also, the lanyard pin is flat. Looks to have the new style screws that have holes on both sides but no Idaho made, and it has a classic like blade grind, the 21s are a little bit different. I also think its kind of suspicious he didnt include weather its a classic or a 21 and that he felt like he had to throw in usa made on the title. Looks like something the chinese people that make/sell these would post.

I see it now, wow. Great attention to detail! I was sitting here with a known good one in my hand and still couldn't say one way or the other.

The blade geometry and grind is the most noticeable. The pocket clip is also a red flag. The spacing between the blade and ti slabs, thumb lug is out of proportion. But seriously trying to pass off a fake as a genuine sebenza is low. But have to give the seller the benefit of doubt that he may have purchased it thinking it was genuine and thought it was a p.o.s. thus motivating him to sell it. Either way, it needs to be reported.

That is odd, but at least there was no points given. There is a Mod that puts up fakes in the Spyderco room. I checked, and the last one he put up is still active.

, blade shape esp around cutout bottom near pivot.

Thats the first thing I noticed.

I posted exactly like this and got nailed by Karda for deal spotting. 10 points for 1 year... I'd reword the op to point out your purpose for posting!
