Thanks for the pics Pen, I need to get one of those BDCs! I love the looks of those, and I'm a newly converted chiruwa handle fan too, so that only sweetens the deal.

The BDCs are just wonderful. Everybody should have one. The pictures are just not enough - they don't tell how light it feels in the hand, how nice the fullers reflect in the light, nor how comfortable the 14-incher's handle feels in the hand (no butt plate).
The mystery khuk came from John Powell's collection and is a rough villager that's somewhere between a sirupati and an AK. In the photo it looks like it's the same size as the 14" BDC, but it's much heavier - the blade is twice as thick. I'm going to run this one through the ole rehab process and it should turn out very nice.

Dan, what's the blade length on your 10" new model? One of those may be just the thing to go on my web gear, my new unit here on Ft. Gordon has a 6" blade limit or I'd carry my 15" sirupati 
. If one of those is under 6" though, I may have to place an order so I can get one before I get deployed.
Edited to add: I just realized I may have given the wrong impression with my above statement; I'm not currently on the deployment roster, but with things going the way they are it's only a matter of time so I want to be prepared. Thanks for any info too Pen.

RR - sorry, bro. The blade is about 6.5" - measured from the center of the bolster to the tip. If you could somehow convince them to measure it parallel to the handle, you might get away with it. It's a sweetie, that's for sure.
Semp - it weighs in at 5 lbs.
I didn't really have much of a problem swinging it one-handed out in the woods, though. You just have to adjust your style. Keep one khuk around for light stuff, use the 25" AK for the heavy stuff.
