So I just went ahead and ordered another folder, and of course it ends up being a Spyderco.

I certainly don't need another folder, or any knife- for that matter. . . but I am sick.

so, tell me how excited I should be. . . I ordered the BG-42 CF Military because I wanted something thin, slick, light, and sharp. . . but mostly I wanted a friggin knife fix. . . it has been over a month now!

Nice, if you like it, you can already place your order for a CPM-D2 Folliage Green Military. Should be out in a month (or two) also... :D

Rat, the peel ply carbon fibre BG42 millie is one of the best, most well balanced production knives I've ever owned. Ergonomics, strength, blade steel, and production quality are all first rate.

BG42 is a great knife steel IMO. I like it better than S30V performance wise. I can get it sharper, easier and it holds the very sharp edge longer.

Enjoy your new knife. Great choice. BTW, mine turned out so well I had to buy a second one to keep as a backup. The future has Sprint runs coming up with CPM D2, and one in S90V also. I'm very much looking foreward to these. The military will get nothing less than top of the line sprints being one of Spyderco's flagship products. Joe

It's an awesome knife. It's one I have to stop and consider every time I choose my carry knife for the day.

sounds like a good knife, I am assuming this one has inset steel liners?

The D2 sounds pretty cool, but if it is anything like regular D2, will rust too easily for me.

Of all the things I value in a folder, thin-ness is one of them.

Easy to carry and lightweight while remaining sturdy and very pointy.

All good things about the Military. I will get the D2 model

Rat, believe me, it's a beast! And a very good choice or what you want! I got one in my pocket right know:cool:

I've got one of those! :D

Got it off New Graham for a good price. It is a lean, mean, cutting machine with a nice, big blade! You will love it. I've been slicing everything in sight for months now...and it's STILL SHARP!

Heck. I sound like a fanatic or some sort of groupie. Guess I'm sick, too. :o

[Frankly, I've got so many knives I really need a 'knife room' rather than a safe. And, like Daniel, I'd like to know where to order the D2 Millie!]

got it today, the action is a little stiff, but the pivot might be too tight. the edge is terrific. Nice lockup, perfectly centered, F&F excellent.

Spydercos liner lock action tends to be a bit stiffer than most other brands. I actually like this because they always seem to stay closed better and have a more consistent, safe feel rather than flinging around willy-nilly. Mine is broken in now, and the action is smooth, but tight.
