Cool. As a kid, I lived near the Denver & Rio Grande north-south line that runs up the Front Range of Colorado. We used to tape railroad spikes to the tracks in hopes of "forging" a cool shape that could be used as a knife. It never worked, but it was loads of fun listening for the "whang-zoom" as it was spit out from between the wheels and rail. As an adult, one of the very first "custom" knives I bought was forged from a spike. I still have it, but mostly as a desk knife.
