Hello All, Here is another Bird and Trout. I know not everyone likes hunter Orange G 10, but I think it is reasonably cool with black.
Blade is 154CM .100 thick and 3.375 in. from tip to bolsters. o/a is 7.5 in. It has been heat treated to 60-61 RC with cryo and double temper 2 hrs ea. It has been hollow ground with 10 in. wheel. The tang is tapered and I hollow grind center of tang so the epoxy will not be all squeezed out. It also helps to fit the scales good and tight to the tang. When I epoxy the mosaic pins I use JB Weld and ensure the hole and pin are completely coated before incerting them. You would have to destroy the scales to remove them from the tang. The blade has a 1200 grit satin finish.
The Bolsters are carbon fiber with bronze pins holding them very tightly to blade.
The handle is Hunter orange G-10 of course, with mosaic pins, lanyard hole and bead, and thin black liners.
The sheath is 8-9 ounce leather that has been hand tooled and hand stitched. The knife snap fits into the sheath holding it securly yet is easy to withdraw.
