Do you do like me when its not cold out. Quarter it up, then in the cooler with ice and drain and refill with ice for 3 or 4 days. Almost good as letting it hang a few days.

The LrMrS is a great knife for this, plenty long enough with just enough belly for skinning.

I had a Deer Processing buisness for many years and about lost my love for deer hunting. This is the first year I've been in 5 or 6 years.
A 10 pointer has been coming through my yard at night but I havn't even got a glimpse in daylight:grumpy:

I let some friends hunt behind the house, I just hope one of us gets him.

Yep, it's on ice now and will let it stay there for a couple days to clean itself up...

I can imagine that business could spoil the fun of hunting, glad you're back at it though. And Good luck on that buck. It's funny how smart they get. They've been feeding at night here the last few days, these 2 were on there way to bed down, totalling ignoring the corn right now too...

Dad and I got out yesterday with a friend and three beagles. Huntin' wabbits her in NJ. I limited out (4) in less than 3 hours. Four shells, four bunnies. I was psyched. Only bad thing is that I became the brush-beater for the rest of the day. Dad ended up with 3 and our friend got one. Not bad for a beautiful Friday in the field.

Man, I wish we had rabbits like we once did. They are a blast to hunt, and eat. We have so many coyotes around know I dought we'll ever have a good population again.
