Here is another knapped knife.
It is made of obsidian.

length
overall 6"
blade 3"

handle is whitetail antler
blade is dark blue obsidian.

$55.00
No sheath (I'll try to learn how to make them soon.)

also pics of my newest knife (not for sale. Dad got it for father's day)
It has a dacite blade and Black Walnut/Antler handle.
I just got some black buffalo horn that I'm going to try instead of the antler
Anybody interested in a knife like this?

Thanks for looking
Note: the small obsidian/antler knife is the one for sale here.

what is obisian and how well does it cut ? and how hard to sharpen? they look great i might look into one myself.

ps - the one you made for your dad is very coolish . any plans to make any more (((kinda))) lol like it ?? im reading up on it
now with google . will it break easy ?? or can you use it daily or is it just a show piece??

Teddy,
You have hit upon an untapped market here! :) I keep missing out... Knapping is an art- these should do VERY well on soft materials like meat,veg- they are cutters, not prybars.

Very nice!

Like this one most. Email me if you make another just like it.

In buffalo horn? This might make an interesting boot-knife type knife. And, I'm guessing, completely non-metallic?

I hope to tell you it's sharp!!:D
Several years ago an ophthalmologist used an obsidian blade to do a cataract surgery just to demonstrate how sharp it can be knapped.
One of the Leakys (Lewis ,I think) used a very crudely knapped rock to dress an impala -he did it in very short order too. All of this was to demonstrate that "rocks" were indeed tools for primitive man..

the black walnut handled knife is simply stunning.

make more.....now. :)

very nice...I'd really like to see a pic of that knife cutting some flesh or fabric....never handled an obsidian knife before....

According to his website, he's still young. Prolly got better things to do than knap blades all day...but I have been keeping an eye out for some more - great looking knives he makes.
