I've been looking to get one of these for a while but they having been selling for more than I wanted to spend. The description makes it seem like a light user (we will see). I just put in a blind bid and wouldn't you know, under 70 bucks.

The big reason for the "high" prices you've been seeing is probably due to the fact that it was the first production AO. Nice snag!

I've cut back on buying through ebay because I'm really tired of being sniped. The last eight or nine auctions I've bid in got sniped in the last minute. I emailed da 'bay and told them I probably wouldn't be coming back. :grumpy:

So get yourself an esnipe account...."Just set it, and forget it"....figure out what`s the max $ you would spend on that particular item, enter the amount, and you`re done ! Open bidding is for noobs and suckers....all the *real* action takes place 10 seconds before the auction closes....

I have to say that except for my Randalls, all my knives have been off of eBay. I tend to get much better deals there than I can find anywhere else.

On the other hand, except for my Randalls, all my knives are under $100

A buddy of mine picked one up a while ago it was the first time I had ever seen that model, it was very nice. The blade steel was 440v and took a sweet edge.

Nice edge on that blade. I'm sure the one I'm getting doesnt look that nice (yet).
On the other hand I thought the price was OK so, what the hell, buy ANOTHER knife.

Now I just need a few more Barkies and then thats it!!

So, would it be fair to go back and e-snipe them weasels that sniped me? This is intriguing. Maybe I'll look into this. It would sure be nice to get some of the nice old cutters I've been bidding on.
