Another Large Regular On The Way....! UPDATED: PICS

...my thumb has been feeling a little sore with the frame lock.

Totally! My Spydies and BM's are definitely easier to open and close. That lock bar is pretty stiff on the Sebbie. Just got my 1st CRK yesterday and my thumb hurts :). Of course, once I start using the knife like a normal person and only open it a few times per day (at most) then it won't be an issue. I just can't resist playing with my new tank of a knife though...

I posted pics to the original post and updated so you guys don't have to scroll to find the pics.

I was VERY bad today, I now have another large regular UG and a small regular UG on the way today. I think I am done for awhile until CRK calls with my 25 sebenza....LOL. Will post pics when they arrive...!!!

Man, that's incredibly cool, just wow!

I've been getting the itch for one, especially after your group pic! Can't find one though and to be honest I'm afraid i'll get hooked and my wallet can't take getting addicted to discontinued Sebenzas :D

Big congrats to you bub, ain't it funny how being bad feels SO good?!

Oh Yes, and its tough because the regulars dont come up often, so when you see one, you gotta jump on it or its gone. I havent owned a small regular in awhile, so its about time. But I am pretty much tapped out right now....lol. I have had so many CRK at this point, where I have had almost every type. Yesterday, I received my 2nd large P sebenza. Its actually nicer than my first one, so was happy with that. Got it for a great price. Thats pretty much the name of the game. You might have to pass up several that are higher $$$ just to wait and get one that is a little cheaper, and THATS the HARD part....LOL.

Well I know me and once I get my mind on something that's it, game over.

There will be a Large Regular in my hands at some point. . .after I get a few 21's I've been eyeing out of my system first;)

Have you ever had a large regular yet...?

Nope. I've been holding off as from what I have read of them and what I've seen I know i'll (yea this is corny) fall in love with it and that little knife devil that sits on my shoulder will whisper "more, more". Cut to a few months later I'm screwed.

Plus I'm leary about buying used Sebs at this point unless I knew the person selling it and seeing as how they've been out of production for some time getting a NIB is out of the question.

A BG42 Large Regular plain jane keeps me up some nights, but what little self control I have is keeping it pure pipe dream for now.

LOL, I am sure my posts and pics have not helped either....lol.

I personally feel the large regular sebenza is the finest folder ever made. They are some great makers out there, but I always come back to the large regular. The zaan knocked it from my pocket for a bit, but over time, the large regular won out. Having a CGG or UG makes them special, but a regular plain jane is mighty sweet too.

I have 2 large regulars in BG-42. My first sebenza and one later that I picked up down the road. I dont carry them, but its nice to look at em. For me, they may just as well be S30V, being BG-42 does not matter to me, just love the large regulars period. Though I guess it is nice to have the more collectible BG-42's.

I am just not a 21 fan. I love the overall look and feel of the regulars. I would take a P sebenza over a 21 because of the blade profile alone. Thats one thing I like about the new 25 sebenza is that CRK went back to resemble the regular blade profile.

Yea I believe I've looked at your Regular group pic and the individual shots in this thread about ten times per day. No joke:o

I remember when I first got a Sebenza and you helped me out with a few questions through email, even then you planted the Regular Sebenza seed in my head!

The only reason I'm interested in BG42 is for the fact I've never used that steel before. It certainly isn't a collector thing, as I'd be using the knife probably on the daily(is that a bad idea?)

I'm pumped about the 25, I really dig the blade shape and even though I love my 21's I think alot of the reason I use my Insigno so often is because of the belly on the blade.

At anyrate I'm locked in with CRK for a brand spanking new 25 when they roll out so if I never get ahold of a Regular I have the 25 to look forward to!

I have used my first sebenza, then when I learned about the BG-42 steel being rare, I looked for an S30V. The NCIS one was my second sebenza. I havent carried my first sebenza much since then. Its more of a sedimental thing I think. Not that I dont think that its durable. At the time, S30V plains were EVERYWHERE, but then again, they were still being made. Now, it seems like they all dried up. I have bought a sold a couple plains over the years, both large and small. I have sold a BG-42 also. I used my S30V versions the most and it has been amazing. CRK has always used only the finest materials.

Some have complained about a sticky lockbar with the large regular, but personally, I have never found it to be an issue. I also like that the large regulars always seem to have a 50% lockup %, no matter how long you use them. Just something I am picky about. All my regulars have been silky smooth. I like the contoured rounded handles, grippers on the lockbar to aid in grip. Blade shape and just overall feel and performance.

With the 21, I have had both smooth and not smooth and very tight sebenzas. Lockup is always more than I like. I have emailed CRK about it and Chris has said lockup % is a non issue, but its just something I prefer. I just like a 50% lockup and thats just a personal preference. With the 21, i just dont like the pointy blade shape. I have tried many of them over the years, but just never grew on me. I will say that the small sebbie 21 is a sweet little folder and the point blade is not as noticeable as the large is.

All in All, I just prefer the large regular, as you have noticed in ALL my posts on the CRK forum.....lol

I have a knife or two I'm fairly sentimental about aswell. Glad I'm not alone in that!:D

Well I think this little chat sent me over. Starting next week I'm in the market for a Large Regular.

Wish me luck

Nyfemaker and Tomhalv, thanks for the great pics. You guys are finding some amazing knives out there.

Congrats again. One of my Large regulars is @ CRK for a refurb. Will post some pics when it comes back.
