Another Large vs Small

I would recommend a large for a one-knife recommendation. I love my smalls (perhaps maybe even more than my larges, especially the Inkosi) but the large will give you a great idea of what CRK is and how well-rounded the knife is to any use.

I would recommend just the plain jane large unless you find something used here on the forums that works out better for you.

I have started buying all of mine used except for my Wilson Combat 25 because I couldn't find it used anywhere.

I love my large. But I have XXL hands

WOW, those are big hands!! lol

Thanks so much for the feedback guys. This definitely helps with my decision. I think the large is in the lead as far as versatility and ergonomics goes.
Jleephoto, thanks for the pics. That gives me a great perspective seeing both options next to knives I own.

If you are looking at a large, you should really consider the 25!!!!

I've really fallen in love with mine! A CF one is amazing because it's still so light.

I don't know how i feel about not having the pivot bushing. I feel like thats part of what makes the 21 so easy and dummy proof to re-assemble.
I don't know too much about it though, i'll check it out!

You mentioned gloved hands, the small might be a little tougher to get to with gloves on. I've got to buy XL - XXL sized gloves. My dad has a small wood inlay I've tried, and there is just no way the size would feel secure for the things I do daily. I went with a large micarta for a little extra handle beef, and it feels fantastic in my hand. It's not too threatening to pull outing public in relationship to my hand size (unless I don't notice it), but offers just the right amount to hold on to. I could see owning a small inlay if I were sitting at a desk, or possibly doing more intricate work, but definitely not for me in the field.

I own both the small and large Insingos, and for EDC I prefer the large. It's just easier to operate in my hand. And I'm on the smaller side of average size, 5' 9" and around 162 pounds. And I like the Insingo blade better than the standard Sebenza blade shape. For me, the shape seems to cut and bite into most materials better/more aggressively/more easily than the standard blade.

If you're in jeans most of time doing "working man" type cutting tasks, go with the large. I have both large and small Insingos and I prefer the large in most scenarios (despite having just M/L size hands), but I like having the small for carry in dress slacks or in places where a larger blade may draw attention.

I never told you guys I had both on order!
They just arrived today.

My pics don't seem to wanna post. Not sure if anyone can get em strait in the forum, I'm not having luck.

I plan on returning the small. I was very surprised how small it actually is in person. Definitely very pocket friendly and would be great for an office environment like some of you mentioned.

Your finding was the same as mine. The small is just way too small for me to operate, specifically opening being extremely difficult. Same with the Mnandi. Both small and Mnandi purchased at the same time and I was crushed to find that they are just too small for my hands and both had to be returned. The larges are all great though, as is the 25.

This is sort of off topic, but does anyones insingo have a slightly uneven grind on the swedge? (at the tip)
I'll try and post some pics, I noticed it appeared slightly off centre, but i believe its an illusion caused my the grind on the show side being slightly heavier than the lock side. Is doesn't really bother me that much, Im just wondering if this is common? i thought CRK has higher tolerances. Its birthday was Dec, 22nd 2015.. maybe they were in a rush before the christmas holidays!?

Congratulations!!

i'm a carp too, had a 940-1 and loved it! but NOT at work, not at all; too much blade. It was my favorite so i gave to my brother.
Please let us know what You think. i've decided on a plain small Insingo (for work) Thought about micarta but i like the plain look and don't feel a grip advantage.
i have to wear gloves often the good thin Gtech's.
Thanx for posting.

Right on man, Yea the 940 is great. I think part of the reason i went for the Large is because i have the 940, and plan on holding onto it. The handle on the small just seemed way to small to me. The blade is plenty big enough. I think the 940 and large insingo makes a good pair!
I think a Medium Sebenza would be very popular!
I too like the plain look, I think the patina the titanium gains with use looks pretty good!

This thread makes me have zero desire for a small. I was kind of thinking a small CF 21 drop point would be nice. Now I'm just going to send my large 21 insingo back to CRK and have them fit a drop point blade to it because it's sentimental and I want to continue carrying it! One thing is for sure though, no matter how many knives from other companies that I buy, I always end up carrying my Sebenza most often. Guess I'm a fan boy now.

Well it's all personal preference anyway. Some people like small knives, and some people like big knives. I don't mind big knives, but I rarely carry them and find smaller ones more useful. I was actually looking at my large over the weekend and considered selling it because it never really gets used or carried anymore. I like the smalls for a classy EDC, but when needing something larger I'm usually reaching for something else. So don't count out the smalls!

Congrats to OP on your knives, a nice looking pair.

Im a big guy, I cant do much with a small. I had a mint small Star-Tac and had to let it go because it was just so small.

Guys, i've been infected.
I had every intention of returning one of the knives after i decided on one. And I'm really happy with the large, but i keep opening that small insingo box back up and having another gander. Im very tempted to keep it and have both.
What do i do?!
