I have posted about my Bushknife designs and evolution, in the past. Here is the next chapter.
With this knife, I wanted something light, nimble with good bushcraft capabilities. It was hammered out of a 1/4"x 1"x 6" pc of 5160. The center ridgeline is at .180" thick infront of the handle. The spine narrows to 3/32". It has a distal taper to 1/8" at the tip. The tang also tapers to 1/8". The diamond shape geometry makes it light, yet rigid. It has a 4 1/2" cutting edge and is 9" in overall length.
I wanted to keep the last Leafblade I made... but the little lady reminded me about responsibility and something about my kids eating... I don't know, I wasn't really listening... so I sold that one. Call it fate, but the blade gods saw fit for me to hang onto this new one... and made sure of it. For all its rugged beauty, it is fatally flawed and unsellable by my standards. Not only did I "double tap" with my logo stamp... but I stamped my name upside down on the other side.... who'da thunk.... can't sell it like that... guess I'll have to keep it, now....... mooah-ha-ha-haaa.
Now to work up my ideal carry method and make a sheath.
