I have posted about my Bushknife designs and evolution, in the past. Here is the next chapter.

With this knife, I wanted something light, nimble with good bushcraft capabilities. It was hammered out of a 1/4"x 1"x 6" pc of 5160. The center ridgeline is at .180" thick infront of the handle. The spine narrows to 3/32". It has a distal taper to 1/8" at the tip. The tang also tapers to 1/8". The diamond shape geometry makes it light, yet rigid. It has a 4 1/2" cutting edge and is 9" in overall length.

I wanted to keep the last Leafblade I made... but the little lady reminded me about responsibility and something about my kids eating... I don't know, I wasn't really listening... so I sold that one. Call it fate, but the blade gods saw fit for me to hang onto this new one... and made sure of it. For all its rugged beauty, it is fatally flawed and unsellable by my standards. Not only did I "double tap" with my logo stamp... but I stamped my name upside down on the other side.... who'da thunk.... can't sell it like that... guess I'll have to keep it, now....... mooah-ha-ha-haaa.

Now to work up my ideal carry method and make a sheath.

Rick

Rick, this is a gorgeous tool. Someday, my friend, after I sell a l
kidney, I want one.

Holy smokes, that's a wicked piece. Really dig the wrapped handle.

Mind if I ask what a similar blade would go for?

That's my favorite blade of yours by far. The geometry kicks A$$.

Me too!

Rick can you get an in hand shot with someone who doesn't have little girly hands? Oh and trim your finger nails fruitcake!

that is a cool looking blade Rick.. nice work.. i would have a hard time parting with it too..:o

Now that's one hell of a knife! Your designs never fail to amaze, dude. Keep it up--just tone down the stamping a little. :D

While all of your work looks awesome I can't see some of them fitting my needs but with those dimensions I can really imagine me using that blade a lot.
The blade to handle ratio seems just about perfect !

I think that with that blade teamed up with the one you entered into the camp knife challenge( which I also loved) a person would be pretty much good to go for most scenarios !

Great stuff Rick !;)

Awesome blade, nuff said...I know you're flaws were truely subconcious attempts to keep it, but I'll not be telling anyone.

For carry methods, I think that the Avitar native chest bandoleer would be an excellent carry choice for it since it'll allow you to show it off without seeming to arrogant. Plus I've really wanted to see someone actually execute that carry method ever since seeing the movie.

Even sweeter than the last! This one is like a hemp wrapped sigian dubh on steroids!

and to quote Rockywolf, "Someday, my friend, after I sell a kidney, I want one."

Freeky, David.... that's exactly what I've drawn up.

You got a pick. I haven't seen the movie.

Looks awesome bro, I love that design. I don't blame you...I'd have found a way to keep it too :D

I don't have a pic but it's basically a bandoleer over the left shoulder and under the right arm with the knife in front, center of the chest, handle down. I'll see what I can find on the net for ya. It's not a bad movie at all but don't waste money on the 3d version. Here's a trailer, you get a good view of the knife carry on about 21 or 22 seconds in.

Rick,

It would look sweet in mahogany leather over that anorak you made.
