I've had a project in the works for a L-O-N-G time with Chuck Bybee at http://www.alphaknifesupply.com to make blade blanks.
I've been chipping away at this slowly when I had time trying to fit them between working on my order stuff. I finally just gritted my teeth and got to it. I wish I would have done that a long time ago!
Not trying to sell them here, just wanted to post a picture where I figured the work behind it could be appreciated
The bigger ones are 52100 and the others are 1080+
For some reason a few of them look like they're ground past the spine in the overall pic, but none of them are. They all look just like the two in the top pic when viewed individually.
They were ground to 120X, then a 220X cork, and finally scotchbrite on the bevels with a worn 60X surface grind on the flats. It's a pleasing finish/constrast to my eye. We'll see if anybody agrees once he tries to sell them! lol
