Yes, I have seen brine and dish soap formulas on some boards- haven't had a chance to try them. I guess any extra hardness would help .
 
Very nice OKS you have there, i just have a couple Mustad hatchets, still on the look out for one of those. Mustad makes some nice old tool, Still good enough to use.

I agree, this model was made by Wetterlings and Billnas Bruk, maybe someone else. But it is clearly visible ,,,ustad and also "Jo...", with the characteristic spelling of the crossed-out "O". There is no such axe in the Mustad 1950 catalog, but it may have been made earlier, before WW2. Unfortunately, there are no earlier Mustad catalogs in the public domain.
