I know we have all seen this done before, I make no claim to the idea, just thought I might inspire others to try it. I spent less than an hour on the project. Very satisfied with the results.

starts life as a 6" old hickory skinner

cut line taped off, going for about a 4.75" blade

cut finished, I used blue ice to keep things cool

a before and after photo

finished Nessmuk:)

Pretty cool :) Where do you score your Old Hickory blades at ? I have found a couple at thrift stores now and again.
Are you going to do anything to the handle/scales ? I would hit it with a bit of tung oil or similiar.

Got the skinners here www.knivesplus.com for $6.97 each, I purchased two. I'm not quite done with the finishing touches yet, a little handle treatment is in order and I may round the tip a bit, also have to come up with some sort of sheath.
