Another new Bear Grylls knife

i will agree that the knife bear grylls uses now is a gerber prodigy and not the lmf because the lmf has holes in the finger guard and the knife that he uses (gerber prodigy) doesnt have holes in the finger guard.

And guys the british special forces are one of the best elite forces out there

I know that bear grylls is slightly fake but tbqh who would do some of the stuff he does(climbs up cliffs, jump into unknown depths of water and climb across a canyon on a piece of rusty steel wire), who here would say that they would thruthfully do that. I know i wouldnt.

thanks

British "special" Forces... :) Just a free laugh every time I hear it. Much respect, but my boys n green have them every which way. Thanks to all of our Armed services and their families; Here and abroad. Your Service and Sacrifices make our world a better place!

LOL Ignorance is bliss.

I don't really have to say anything else, as you've had enough responses to your post already

to you american guys out there
the british special force were around before you american special forces
i would call your american forces *special* alright

Whatever his past creds, Bear Grylls is now a television entertainer. As long as I remember that, I am able to be entertained when I watch his goofy antics.

Can we just ban the words "bear" and "grylls" as to not upset the armchair elitist on this forum who can't get their heads around the fact that yes he is highly skilled in what he does, but to demonstrate for the purpose for this entertainment show, he needs props to help him out.

FFS get over it and enjoy the show for what it is.

:D I was on the bay todayand I saw a Discovery Channel Bear Grylls knife. The sellerthat had them had several of them. The knife was really a good looking knockoff of the Bayley.:jerkit:

Leave Bear alone!!

I agree, I loved the one where he fell asleep in a hollowed out log and woke up after setting his log on fire. He had moved the fire almost inside the log. That is the mark of a true professional. Especially the part where he admitted that it had happened to him before...
Well we all make mistakes, thats how you know he is the real deal. Some other survival experts seem to never slip up, even when climbing waterfalls.

i picked up a Gerber Yaris II the other day with s30v and it pretty top notch the handles are aluminum and a bit heavy. im going to make some custom green g10 handles scales for it. i wonder how the Yaris and prodigy compare? Anywho i enjoy both survivor man and man v.s wild, they encourage people to enjoy the outdoors and safety techniques.

+1

According to Bear's Facebook blog Gerber is about to release a Bear Gryll's signature line of knives and multi-tools, I guess seeing as he obviously has a preference for partially serrated clip point style blades we may see a new incarnation of the Gator Serrater perhaps? ;)

His parents seem to have chosen to combine the manliest noun and manliest verb in the english language when naming him.

Haha im pretty sure bear is just a nick name, at least thats the impression a got from an interview i heard.

To all the haters - Bear Grylls is like Santa Claus. It's a lot more fun if you just pretend he's real but no matter how you dress him up, your still going to get presents.

Leave Bear alone!!

hope its better made than Gerber LMF 2 infantry knife -after a hard life of making spears for the kids & lying in my sock drawer the effin handle is falling to bits- not happy gerber!

oh yeah sorry-i love bear especially the scenes where he describes the taste of some bushtucker hes just eaten eg rotten sheep & maggot soup and the look on his face says it all. top marks.

I wondered why he and the previous company fell out, and why he picked Gerber..Going from what he was carrying to a gerber prodigy must be like going from a Shelby Cobra to a chevett :D

That is what I was thinking. :thumbdn:

Maybe the bayley cracked out on him and the maker wouldn't replace it or maybe he wants to use a knife regular people can buy, I honestly want to see what he can do with a BK-2

IMHO bear does a great show. i mean it's about entertainment and most of the stuff he shows can really help. Like following a river to get to civilization, showing what you can eat raw and what you should cook and how to navigate and build a shelter. He always shows that creativity and balls of steel can get you through there and i respect that. he doesn't have to proof that he can survive there, i mean he's just giving some common advices.

It's a TV show...entertainment.

Bear is a name given to him as a child by his sister.

I think he takes alot of risks for a man with responsibilities, but its his life. When the kids and I get the chance to see one of his programs we wath it and they do the whole ewwwww bit. I don't think I will be applying his made for TV antics in the sticks, however.

Say what you will...the guy has paid his dues.
