Another new field blade from a BF maker.

Hey Robert, hope you don't mind me posting the pics up here, I just got really excited when you emailed them to me :D Your return policy is more than generous, but I sure don't think I'll have to worry about sending her back!

I'm glad you posted them. (more exposure usually results in more sales)

My return policy is based on how I would like to be treated. Money is too hard to come by these days, and if I'm spending my money, I want to be satisfied with my purchase.

Edited to add: See it works....... I just received an order associated with your post. Thanks much...........

Robert

You can't beat that. Much appreciated.

Dang, I knew I should have gone into advertising! In all seriousness though, that is very cool. I have a lot of respect for the makers on here I have dealt with, and think it's great when others on the forum support them as well.

tknife,

First Fiddleback, now Robert!!! My addiction grows daily....Excellent looking knife. Gotta go check out his website now...

Steve

t-knife, don't forget Scott Gossman. If you don't have any of his yet, you're missing out!!! He is certainly a maker I try to immulate.

I'd like to get one of Scotts knives also, but he's really back logged. Same with Brian Goode.

Another talented knife maker. Good leatherwork also.

Many talented people on this forum.

damn nice knives:thumbup:

Excellent looking blade and sheath. Definately a "git er done" knife.

Can't wait for the action shots!

Well, I'll jump in here with a pic off Roberts website of a knife he made for me awhile back.

Redwood Burl Hunter #RBH101
O-1 Steel 1/8" Thick
Flat Ground Blade
Stabilized Redwood Burl Handle
Mosaic Center Pin
Overall Length 9"
Blade Length 4 1/2" Tip to Handle

Came with a nice sheath also.

I got my knife from Robert yesterday and I have to say it's just what I wanted. For a knife on the larger side, it's very light. I used to always get heavy field knives with 1/4" thick blades, but 3/16ths" is about perfect. Plenty stout enough for heavy use, while still remaining light and thin enough for slicing. Blade shape should lend itself for prying apart and splitting wood, and there's lots of belly too. There is also a nice distal taper to the point.

The handle on this tapers out slightly toward the butt end and helps lock my grip onto it. The sheath work is as good as a pro leather worker. Knife fits snug even without the keeper strap, and the mag starter fits perfect too. All around this is exactly what I ordered from Robert. The only thing I will change, and that's just personal preference is to sand the handle a little bit to rough it up. Hopefully I can get out in the hills this weekend and take more pics of it. And I can add Robert Dark to the list of truly great makers we have on Blade Forums!

That's a real nice one too Slim. Have you used it yet? I'm looking forward to putting mine to work.

I haven't had the chance to use it yet. At this point, it might have to wait til hunting season. And, while Robert's leatherwork is top shelf, it came with a right handed sheath so I've got to get off my butt and make myself a sturdy left handed sheath worthy of such a nice knife.

I hate you....no really...I hate you really really bad. If you want to sell it, because its obviously as bad design and a piece of crap, I will buy it because we are friends and I always help my friends, so just forward it to me, and I'll send you the original cost. ONLY, because I am your friend. Gene

That is a TRUE friend Gene ;) You wouldn't want it after I get to using it though. It will not be shiny, there will be scratches, stains, blood (my own or from some animal, fish or fowl) and lots of character on the blade. But rest assured I will post pics of its journey :D

I take it my ploy didn't work? foiled again, someday, a newbee will join our ranks, and send me his knife....I will keep it too.
