another new kershaw?

...Hmmm...I really like the lines of this new one myself. Goes along with my tastes...kina not over-bearing yet very practical. Sure wish it could come with the 13C26 steel. Nice lookin' knife IMO...

OL, a few months back I had a phone conversation with Thomas about another matter, but he did ask if I would buy a Chinese made Kershaw with AO if it were priced around $ 25...this must have been what he was talking about. With AUS6, it would have good corrosion resistance, so using it in the kitchen or on the boat would work well for this knife...might have to pick one up just to see...can't really go wrong for the price.

I thought it was kinda interesting that I saw The Kershaw Store logged-in today
as a 'registered user'. A few times over the last few weeks actually.
I looked at his/her profile and they've never posted anything.

Weird could of sworn I posted to this thread again a few minutes ago.
Oh well.

I had typed, "this will be the first Chinese SpeedSafe knife that isn't a knock off."
Considering the high quality of other Chinese Kershaws, this should be a pretty nice knife. It'll certainly put those knock offs to shame.

I think that is the Kershaw version of Ken Onion's INFERNO. Looks pretty sweet! Can't wait to try it out!

Stop holding out on us Thomas! I knew this was in the works, but didn't know it was finished! It looks great.

Come on Kershaw my annual knife budget is fixed!

Now the OSO Sweet. When will this madness end?

My name is Elarski, I am a Knifeaholic...

I might have to give these guys a shot. They've got decent prices.
Anyone buy from them before?

We have always been interested in the Kershaw forum. We have never posted before because we felt this is not a dealer forum and did not want to come accross as we were promoting our store. Have learned much information here and find the topics very informative and interesting.

Wow, the dealers sure like posting info about unannounced knives!
The new O So Sweet is a new model for 2008. It is produced in China and is the first non-U.S. produced knife with SpeedSafe. I agree is is a very interesting knife and should be another success for Kershaw. I tried to attach the Kershaw flyer that we received from our distributor, but since I am a rookie at posting I was unable to figure it out. Sorry!

i wanted to go on record as saying i have bought many knives from The Kershaw Store over the years including my first two way back when. they have never faltered in order time or customer service, pretty much i tend to use them and knifecenter as i live in MD and sometimes enjoy driving over to pick them up immediately, but Kershaw Stores prices are always just that bit better so its always a debate between instant gratification and wallet :)

...There's no need to worry about you having to "promote" your store in the forum. We take care of that pretty much all by ourselves...LOL...Please do pop in more often. Great knife forum...great people...and you fit right in...

you know im not saying kershaw should never have made a chinese speed safe knife but being USA made was always the glory behind them and used that as a promotional tool. i cant get the slogan of all kershaw speed safe knives are made here in the USA out of my head. To be honest with you i would rather see the speed safe on models NOT designed by ken onion. i mean lets get real guys theres no ground breaking science behind the ambidextrious flipping "System" its simply a knife that would have been great as a speed safe without a torsion bar. theres no building up tension and then a "Popping" of the blade like i see in so many false descriptions. Its just a knife with a flipper. Now i really dont know why they wont put it on there other knives, or atleast design them so you can have the option to have a torsion bar installed should you want it assisted. If sal glesser was telling the truth in saying that Kershaw offered to let spyderco use the speed safe system why cant they use it on some of there other knives? i mean could you imagine a "double pumper" JYDII ? or a assisted groove? i know what they are trying to do by deflecting people from buying the chinese kershaw copies. but lets face it they will always make copies and people will always buy them. Now kershaw has a problem with waiting for $7 knock off OSO sweets hitting the market. And even though im sure the chinese kershaw goes through better quality control its still a chinese knife and there are plenty of low cost assisted knives out there that i really think they shot themselves in the foot. I just think if people dont want to pay the price of admission which on a leek, scallion, or chive or even tactical blur at wal-mart is SO DARN low they have no reason to complain anyway. Kershaws are not expensive knives infact of all the knife manufacturers out there i see the biggest discounts being offered on kershaw knives. Hell even TAIWAN CRKT knives sell for more money. but i still love my kershaws and will continue to buy U.S.A. speed safe knives unless they go the way of gerber, cold steel and sog just start putting there name on anything. is it a cool looking knife? yes. Would i pay $25 for it NO. What i would do is spend $50 - $75 for one produced in the usa. I think us kershaw guys have come to love and respect this company due to there commitment to staying usa. But i will admit a "speed safe" chinese kershaw brings a sad tear to my eye. especially when SO MANY other kershaws deserve the system as well. sorry for the rant KERSHAW still knows i love em:thumbup:

oh sonofabi . . . . this is the knife I have been waiting for! Finally Kershaw makes a version of the Inferno - but in AUS6 steel??? Oh crap! What a bummer. I would hope for an upgraded model with a better steel and maybe nicer handles, but if it's made in China I don't know whether Kershaw will do the same for this knife that it has on the JYD2 and leek. I can only hope so, b/c a version this low-end simply isn't useful to me. Grumble grumble . . .
