another newbe question

Lay the knife on a table with the open blade pointed to your left.

If you can see the tangstamp, its a left hand stamp.
 
yep, like his sig pict shows..
i call this is the show side or how you see it in your right hand..
the other side i call the off side ..
most fixed blades are stamped on the off side,
most folders on the right side..
at least as i far as i recall ..
 
You will sometimes hear them referred to as the "Mark side" (left) and "Pile side" (right), but it seems those are falling out of use more and more these days.
