I have been harrassing Bruce Culberson to make one for a while no. since i have a necker, and a belt knife from him already, and a fillet knife in the makings i suppose i can't pressure him too much.

Hi pit, yes that makes sence. This design was from another forum member and is to his specs. Do you have a pic of that drawing that you mentioned?

Bryan

I drew up a few different designs Bryan but can't find any of them now ( yeah sure ya did Pit !!!!) I actually started thinking of something along those lines after seeing this knife from TOPS.......

I do still have this drawing of a Knife/Ulu combo that could be lashed to a stick and used as an axe, I came up with this one a while back.......

No all the top section would be flat edged. The blade would be sharpened up to the point !

Nice, I love those style. I have a western one and made a few of my own, one was a norse style, and a few other hawk shapes. Never had them heat treated so one snapped on me trying it out.

Normark used to sell a skinning axe that looked like a ulu with a handle, a friend had one and he loved it.
He used it on a few moose

Those are some great looking hatchets!

Goatariba,
I was planning on making a few hatchets late this summer.......well now late summer is just around the corner! I have your fillet knife, a hunting knife, and a 12" blade parang to make - then I'll be on to hatchets (I want one for myself too!). Oh and I have 4 neckers/small knives in various stages of completion that are going in the For Sale forum once they are finished.

I'm heading out tomorrow for a 10 day sheep hunt backpacking in the mountains. When I get back I'll send you a sketch of the fillet knife.
