Ok I got some firebrick, found out its not the right ones. I drilled a hole easy through it so I thought I was good.
I stacked them into a forge looking object. 1 on each side, 1 on the back, 2 across the top and then a thin one to cover the front and 1 on the bottom.
I put my JHT7 torch in the hole just to see if it was going to work. Sounded like a jet engine going off. I let it burn there for about 30 minutes with an old file sitting in there. It got hot inside but it DID NOT get red inside and the file didn't even come close to red.
So is the area inside (approx 9x4.5x4.5) too big for the torch or is it just because I don't have the right bricks to create the proper chamber.
I've searched all over and seen awesome pics of the inside of the chamber nice bright. I'm thinking its gotta be the bricks. I can post a pic if that would help.
Thanks
Dave

your chamber size is very much to big for that kind of burner. you need to make it alot smaller and get the right bricks.

Thanks for the help.
I'll look locally for the right bricks.
I know this is a dumb question but do you think 2 of those torches will heat it up???
What about one of those burners thats used to melt snow?
I'll also look locally for the Kaowool and the ITC? to try and make a small, tube forge.
