Another olde one

Here is another old one from my accumulation.
It's a partial-tang model, and has had a hard life.
It has a bit more curve than most modern models, but I don't think we could call it a hanshee.

She's done some heavy work and is still here and will still do a lot more heavy work.

Several of the older khuks I have show spines that are all beat up.
Either they were used as hammers or someone used a stick or something to pound them through a tough object.

The thing that distinguishes a khuk from most other "weapons" is its usefulness as a tool, and it's ability to stand up to hard utility tasks.

Looks like a well used village model you'd see on a farm in Nepal.

Not really.

I cleaned the active rust off of it, using a rubber eraser and then a soft cloth with machine oil (and lotsa elbow grease).
The handle on this one is cracked beyond repair (probably doesn't show in the photo). A new handle could be made and pinned, and the thing could soldier on for a couple of generations, probably.

Wire wrap the handle and it'll go another 50 or 100 years.
