I've been playing alot of call of duty 5: world at war. For those of you not into "flashing light computer-on-the-TV games;)".....it's main setting is in the south pacific, where you battle the Japanese. Your a 1st division of marines, or something like that. So my question is, if you could take any knife from right now, what would you take? As a marine going to FIGHT on the islands in World War II?

my grandfather served in the pacific. messed him up bad (mentally not physically). never could get him to talk about it.

i'd probably go with some kind of kabar.

The question is do we choose a knife with 1940s technology, or a knife from present day options??

Either way, I would choose a custom made SAK with a flame thrower option.

Since Busse's and my Sebenza make me invincible I'd take one of those  :D

Ka Bars were good enough for the Marines back then, It'll work fine for me now! Or A Becker BK7 or RC-6. Plus a nice SAK or multi tool

Either a kershaw outcast or a spyderco rock salt. I have a feeling the H1 in the spyderco might be best suited for the pacific islands, but the bigger blade on the outcast might also come in handy if the fighting gets hand to hand.

When my Grandpa arrived in the Pacific they gave him a Case 5" fixed blade(I have it now).He asked "What the hell do I need this for. I am not going to let the Japs get that close." His M-3 "Grease Gun" never left his side.

I think I'd follow his lead on this, since he was there. Rather than a video game.

I am sure "What knife to bring" meant squat to the Soldiers,Sailors,Airmen, and Marines who never came home from the Pacific.

KaBar! I love this game? do you have live? ill play you add me too friends my live name is the same as my scren name hear!

If I was going off to war, the knife would have to be a Busse ASH1; 6.5" blade, 12" overall.

Busse ASH1 or Grayman Mega-Pounder with Gator Grips.

If I had to pick from the ones I own, I'd take my Cold Steel Carbon V ODA.

Playing a lot of COD 4 online right now, wish I got the new one rather than gears 2.

I have COD5 on my xmas list. I've heard a lot of people like it. I bought Gears 2 as well, It was ok, I was disappointed in the story with no beserkers, and no Kryll attacks, online is just so/so. Glad there's gunna be a Gears 3 to tie it all together.

Whoops.. this is the Knife nerds forum.. not the Game nerd's :D
