Happen to have a spare one sitting here, and if there are some interested then we could do a pass around with it. Is in new shape... for now:D . This might be more interesting, givin how long these knives usually last, and that it is 420HC steel.

Can do the same type of format, where you carry it for a week and send it on. I figure that about 12 would be the most so we can hear what is going on with it. So if anyone is interested, sign up here.

A 112 is essentially a smaller version of the 110. Still has a simular blade shape, same materials. The 110:

I'll give it a shot. Guess that I will have to see what I have a spare of in the box 'o toys. This could get interesting! :D

Hello,
Sent you a email about being added to the list.
I have not heard anything from you.
Are you still sending the knife around?
Just wondering.

Thanks,
Pahl

Sure, we can start it with what we have, and maybe some others might want in.

I've had the pass around Buck 112 for a week or so now and I'm posting my comments before passing it on.

It arrived with a heavy leather belt sheath that is quite nice. My first impression was that this knife has some "meat" to it. Considerable heft and solidity. The handles are much thicker than I realized and very comfortable. All the edges where smooth and beveled.

I used it to open mail with and it did fine, the blade seemed a bit small relative to the handle size. I had thought I would probably never buy I Buck knife because it's not my style, and while I haven't changed my mind, it's still a pretty good knife and honestly I was surprised by it's quality.

Thanks, mschwoeb.

A Buck 112 was the first knife I truly loved. Ahh, if I could get that one back again. I lost it and I still mourn. Beat the sh*t out of it and it still came back for more. I'm more "sophisticated" now in my tastes, but the truth is, even after all these years, that that Buck 112 is still the standard by which all my hard use knives are judged. Judge not lest ye be judged!

If you guys are still passing this knife around, I would like to be added to the list. Since I live near the factory, could get the knife cleaned up and sharpened before it goes home.

I plan on sending it off tomorrow, so if you can get me you name and snail address via email, I'll fill out an address card for you and put in with the knife before I send it.

I think there are at least two people in line at the moment. There may be more I don't know about.

The 112 is a very nifty little knife. It is a shame that the 110 gets all the press because I like the 112 much better.

I did not do a lot of cutting with it becuase i am still taking it easy after my wreck. No yardwork, but a fair bit of opening mail and packages of coffee. I like the smaller size, but I REALLY like the flaired low guard on the front of the handle. This has always struck me as the main flaw in the 110 handle design.

I am lazy and wouldn't mind if it had a thumbstud or disc added to it to make it easier to open one handed, and a pocket clip might not be bad but as dense/heavy as this little guy is I don't know that it would hang well clipped to a pocket.

All in all a very underappreciated little knife, and I think that if I can find one at a good price I just might pick me one up. Thanks for letting us play with it! :D

It's here!
Just got the knife in the mail today, thanks.

Seems like its a very solid and well built knife.
The lock on it is much more solid then on my blackie colins.

I think I'm really going to enjoy testing it out.

I will post more once I get done using it.

Thanks agian,

Well, it arrived yesterday, and I'm carrying it right now. It does look really nice with the wood handles and brass bolsters. It is indeed a heavy knife for its size, compared to what I usually carry, with all the aluminum, G-10 and Carbon fiber handles. It already seems to have been used a little bit, as the blade has been sharpened at least twice. Very sharp, whoever did the last one! As I usually carry a sheath, this one fits in quite well to my rotation. I'll be carrying it exclusively as my EDC for the next week, so I can get a good feel for it.

If there are any people still interested it getting in line to have it for a week, I think there are still a few places left.

I'll post more after my time is up with it.

Daniel,
Glad to hear you thought it was sharp.
I used the razor edge system on it.

I really liked the knife. I to thought it was a heavy knife, but that was not a bad thing.
I really enjoyed using the knife and would once again like to thank mschwoeb for giving me the chance to try it out.
I would not mind having one someday.
Whats a knive like that cost?

Thanks again
jp

edit: I should add that when I received the knive it was sharp also. I just sharpened it befor I sent it out to make sure it was in good shape for the next guy.

I wonder who sharpened it befor I did and what they used....

A knife like that cost a lot. I mean, just look at those beautiful reviews!;) :D

Just kiding. I picked that up for $30 I think, at the local sporting goods store.

And as far as the edge, Buck gives it a wonderful factory edge, one of the best out there.
