Thanks to Durbin and Morrowj for the inspiration...
What are the handle materials for Case's CV bladed peanuts? Who/where is your favorite place to purchase said peanuts?

Thinking of joining PA,

Thomason is the cause of all this....or most of it. :p

Ok Ok... I think it was a team effort... jackknife for the peanut inspiration of his father/ men from his father's generation. And yes, the goofy doofus takes some great pictures that make said peanuts rather appealing.

I think this is allowed, (if not, then Blues I apologize) but I think I can mention this; there are several great online dealers through which to purchase cv peanuts. The site I bought my two through, which has a great deal of information anyway about handles, patterns, knife history is through Shepherd Hills ; www.casexx.com

You can look up what all they have for cv there, I think that there is red bone, dark red bone, yellow delrin, amber bone, the chestnut peachseed jigged bone with blued blades, which I am carrying, and then a couple damascus, and alot of ss options as well. My new Sunday peanut is the Prime Stag version with SS, which can take a really good cutting edge, just does not hold it as long as cv does. Hope that helps, and do go get a peanut, and a nice folksy welcome to PA.(That'd be "peanuts anonymous" not pennsylvania to those of y'all who missed prior thread ;) )

In regards to the Case peanuts with blued blades- how well does the blue hold up under use? Does it wear quickly and show scratches, or is it pretty durable? Those things are purty.

Dang... those blued peanuts look great! BUT... I wish they had a non-blued CV peanut in that same handle material. I'd be all over that like a bum on a ham sammich!

edited to add: where else can I find a good selection of CV bladed peanuts? Help a fella join PA!

So far, for ease of searching and selection, Shepherd Hills Cutlery, for new ones; also type vanadium in the search box for SMKW; or Case, CV, vanadium, Peanut, or any combination of those, in the search box on ebay or other sites. Oddly enough, different combinations bring up different results. (Can you tell I've searched this before? A lot? ;))

thx - cpr
