Another perfect Benchmade

Luckiest man alive honestly. Ive loved every single one of my benchmades, but very rarely have they been close to perfect. They've all either been less than perfect on centering, or you cant fully get rid of the blade play, or some other minor issue.

Of the 3 i currently own, Mini crooked river, carbon fiber grip, and presidio 2, only the presidio is near perfect, strange enough since thats also the cheapest one. The Mini crooked river ive owned for 3 or 4 years, and it has both slight centering issues and i cant quite get rid of the blade play. Love the knife though. And the Carbon fiber grip is pretty tight for some reason. Loosening it causes too much blade play for my tastes, so i have to leave it a bit too tight.

Their QC doesnt seem as bad as it used to be, but they definitely took their sweet time getting it adjusted.

Glad you got a good one! Perfect is a hard bar to meet but I'm also in the "never got a bad BM in the last few years" club though my sample size is not huge.

I was in Oregon today near Portland and ran over to the Benchmade factory store. Handled all kinds of knives but bought the Bailout. This thing is perfect as well. I didnt get to choose which one. I picked it out and they opened a new box, showed it to me and i paid for it. I did hear another customer ask if they had blem knives, BM guy said no, they dont want blem knives in the marketplace. Very impressive place and everyone was very friendly. Might of been 20 people in their store. I dont have a ton of Benchmade knives but my collection will continue to grow. I saw some models Ive not yet seen before. 100% good so far.

Very nice collection so far Mike 👍😁 That's very interesting that you ended up with the Bailout. I wouldn't have guessed that. I've been debating about that very same model.

not just slim super duper slim. I was shocked how slim when I held one. threw me off. cool knife though and who doesn't like m4😁

The bailout is one of my favorites. It is definitely my most carried. The aluminum scales make a big difference in the feel. It locks up tight and has a snappy sound. Blade is awesome and one of the sharpest from the factory I have received. Mine was also perfectly centered. I love how thin it is and the length of the handle. My only gripe is the glass breaker. I wish it wasn’t there. It sticks my grip and scratches things. One day I will replace that piece with one from the black handle version.

I was in Cabelas today and had to have the 417 Fact. Looked at this knife at Benchmade but didn’t purchase last week. Very nice almost 4 inch blade of S30V. This one is nearly perfect with a slight favor to one side when closed: another great knife!

I'm curious Makael, did you see the other Fact that Benchmade has? Did you consider it? It is one sexy-looking knife, but somewhat more expensive. I'm kinda drooling over it!

I did see it. I will purchase one but there were others on the list.

Wasnt at the top of the list but went to Cabelas tonight and had to have it. Another great example. 551-1. G10 and CPM20CV. Im glad to have it.
Excellent choice Mike! I have that one plus the sheepsfoot version and they're two of my favorites. Absolutely perfect from the factory as well.
