You know Dave – your post made me think…Jax might have done something wrong – and also might have not…he might be serving a sentence in prison – and then again – he might not

God knows how many people served UN-just sentences…some of the most respected people I know have done some time…some for a good reason – some for none…

Its what they do after released that counts…

Jax – at worst – is an avid knife collector…which is not bad to begin with…at best – he just might be a good chap…don’t know – never met him or traded with him….

And Jake – I never got a 2 AM phone call from him …LOL might have tried – he’d probably catch me during lunch…LOL first time I see an advantage to the time difference…

well, i liked jack, and never got the 2AM phone calls/etc that so annoyed others, and he always treated me and my wife with the utmost respect like a gentleman. hope he gets straight whatever his problem is, i would think drugs, and hope he is not in the fed system,no early release/parole from them, i know one guy w/no priors, a viet vet, who served 4 yrs 6 months on a 5 yr beef on POM about 8oz. semed like a lite beef to me, but the FBI was involved, and the sentencing guidelines applied, and he got 5 yrs were he woulda got probation from state. so, i really feel some empathy to people in prison on morales stuff w/no one getting hurt ie drug possesion charges/small time crooks, when i worked ina fed prison in bastrop i saw so many young 18 -19 yr old african american youths, serving 5, 7, 10 and up sentences for crack, some relativly small amounts, they were like lost souls, a lost generation, no hope. true story, DEA buys a kilo of coke from a 20 yr old african american individual, guy was looking at del of CS, about a kilo of powder, looking at 10 yrs or so, the DEA guys talked him into cooking it into crack, bingo, enough crack he got a life sentence. the last time i heard it was being appealed to the supreme court, but good luck!! and they say cops are dumb lol.........

one other thing i learned working at the prison, all (95+%) of convicts find the lord, some more sincerly than others imho, and they are ALL innocent!!!!!!!

just my .02 worth, best luck to jack to get out soon and become a productive member of society, and never have probs again......we can hope!!!!!i'll certainly give him a chance. whatever he was he wasnt a thief, i dont think, maybe drug problems.....
