Another respirator question

Ok I know it's been covered a million ways to sunday but I have spent the last two hours checking searched threads and I can't find it. I ordered the 3M P95 respirator. Is that good enough for Micarta or did I just throw away my money?

It should make an air tight seal on your face as well, make sure it fits well or it defeats the purpose. Can't speak for the filters, it's been a while since I bought mine.

I have a similar model, if not the same, with the p100 filter. How often do you guys change out your filters? What are the tell tale signs to change them out?

I'm interested in this one too. I have been changing out my filters when I feel like it gets harder to breathe. Then I know they're full. I just got the best one they had available at the hardware store, and it's been working fine.

It's a 3m half mask with the P95 filters. I don't have it yet so I don't know if it fits. We'll see but I'm most concerned about the filters being adequate. I'll find a mask that fits!

I vacuum my filters about once a week, and replace them every January. A pre-filter cover is a good addition if you create a lot of large dust, like wood grinding. P95 is OK, P100 is better.

A half mask is not bad and P95 is fine for micarta... but once you finally work with a full face, you'll kick yourself for not making the leap sooner.

I bought a 3M6900 Full Face (not the best, not the worst).

Ah... I see. Well I'm not a prolific maker yet and I don't plan to do a lot of work in Micarta but a friend wanted something made and when he picked out the scales micarta was the way to go so I figured I better have SOMETHING before I start cutting and sanding them!
