another riddle forsome wood

ok this is a piece of desert ironwood. it is not the best, has sap, but hey its free. so here is the riddle. A man runs into a bar and asks for a glass of water. The bartender pulls out a shotgun and the guy who ran in to ask for some water say thank you. why did he say thank you. thankz-marekz
