Another Shot Of The Team Gemini P . . .

Unless you're field dressing cetaceans, there's only really 3 uses for a long blade - chopping, brush clearing and fighting. I don't think this will be optimized for any one, I think it will fall somewhere in the middle. Where it lies along the spectrum will depend on the balance and the grind.

I reckon it will make an awesome pig sticker. A strong blade that won't flex and stabs very deep. A sharpened swedge or long sharpened bowie clip would make it even more deadly.

I'm sure it will, but as you say, it's not fully optimized as a stabbing weapon. On the other hand, it would be a lot more useful for field improvising an A-frame to spit roast the pig you just killed than knives that are fully optimized for stabbing.

Personally, I like the idea of a long blade that can handle field tasks, but can also be effective in a more martial role. Not because I ever really expect to have need of the latter, but on a precautionary principle, and honestly for the sake of the poser / 8-yr-old kid still in me.

Glad got in on this. More I see comparison pics to other KIN more want a TG. Really think this should be good one. Choppy, stabby, descenty slicy if not great. Weight should be good for size too. If comes in INFI will prolly be in too. Just gotta keep moving things along. My souls being sold next.

Also wouldn't mind seeing this as bowie variant. Can't wait to get this.

I'd be interested in your soul, if it is still in decent shape, that is...

I'm thinking this will be a pretty great all-arounder, do whatever needs doin kind of blade. Field dressing cetaceans is a bonus feature I hadn't though about.

Bought this one... I am really excited to get a big chopper. I can't really think of a practical use, so I guess I will have to come up with a lot of impractical uses for it!:D

Those are some very honest words Sir and I'll add to your statement that the reason you posted above is all I've ever needed to buy a knife( although I'm pretty sure that I'm an 11 year old poser on the inside).

I missed out on the comp finish, then waited too long and missed out on the TGLB all together. I passed on the BGTG because I'm picky and didn't care for the change to the fuller and wanted the NM treatment on the guard, spine, butt of the knife.
Now I'm looking at this beast of a Gemini and the hunter in me is trying to find a use for it while the 11 year old poser is screaming for me to but it- Jerry might have finally got me on this one.

I'm in, and I really can't figure out why. I like the TG and the longer blade is talking to me. Just couldn't resist. So I will try a color combination that I haven't seen before. Desert Sage blade with Green Canvas handles.

I ordered - green micarta on tanker grey. I'll see what it feels like in the hand before deciding whether it needs a clip point ground into it or not.

In my defense, I used to work in protected areas, and have spent a lot of time in tropical forests where an aggessive encounter was a real possibility (with poachers, drug traffickers or other armed groups), and I know several people who have been seriously injured as a result. That's the precautionary part. However, I don't have the opportunity to spend a lot of time in really remote and inhospitable places these days, and I realise that even if I did AND was unlucky enough to find myself in an encounter I couldn't avoid, then a knife is not very likely to be what makes a difference to the outcome. But there's still something about a sleek and purposeful piece of steel that is just sexy. That's the poser / 8-yr-old part.
