It seems like the older I get,the less I can sleep. I was up this morning at 1:30, so after I had four cups of coffee, I felt like the Energizer Bunny. I went out to the shop and worked on finishing some handles, and fired up the forge. This is what I got accomplished. From the top down we have Noshtero`s Kephart set, Standard and Pocket, in tiger stripe maple with white liners. Then there is the very first Baby Kephart, designed by our own C. Bryant (this one is his), in birdseye maple. Next is a lightweight 3" Hiker`s Backup in tiger stripe maple, and last is another Tin knife.

The Energizer Bunny has nothing on you. Crankin' out knives, takin pics and posting here? You're a machine! :D

Great knives by the way. Love that Baby Kephart :thumbup:.

GREAT LOOKING WORK JOHN...:eek: i love that baby kephart.. those scales look gorgeous...:thumbup:

John,
Even as you have your own knack for design, you certainly also posses a bit of a special skill in executing someone else's design. That is not nearly as easy as materializing your own designs, as you can always rationalize the outcome with "I meant to do that," :foot: or you can satisfy yourself that the materials "led" you in a slightly different direction as you made the knife or you revised the design on the fly, noticing required tweaks through handling it in the process of building it.

Nice work and nice design on the Baby Kephart. I think, even if we were to strip it of that beautiful wood, it would stand on it's own. I believe I have already complimented your own designs and those opinions stand.

Coffee, or not, when I am sleep deprived (a chronic situation), I get "stupid;" slurred speach, clumsiness, absent-mindedness (yes, I am always like that for a real reason), so just be careful in that shop, John.

Nice work.:thumbup::thumbup:
Don't fall asleep carving the turkey!:eek:

I'm liking that Baby Kephart! :thumbup:

Excellent pics - you always have good backgrounds, be they stones or stumps.

All the best,

- Mike

No problem there, for the first time in 22 years we are not having dinner here. We are going to my oldest stepdaughter`s home, so my son in law will get the carving honors.

Hey, I guess I didn't give the designer all that much credit, did I?:o
Well, you know that I know that you have excellent taste in knives and that our "leanings" are at almost the exact same "angle." Obvious to you why that one is so appealing to me.:thumbup:

Great work, CB!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks much, but seriously the pic looks EXACTLY like the scetch I drew up, John did a fantastic job. I can't wait for it to arrive!

Rockywolf is right that is a nifty hiker's backup!

Here is a bad pic of the "Tin Knife" in the tin, it`s snowing like crazy outside, so I took one in the house.
