Here’s my take on the Snowy Hike with Tony and Marcelo.

Its was a beautiful clear winters day and the March sun was quite warm.

Temps peaked in the mid 20’s, and the wind was blowing pretty good out of the north.

Luckily the trail I selected was sheltered from the wind by a parallel ridge. :)

It’s a nice hike that follows a branch of a large lake; we traversed sloping terrain with many icy streams cascading down into the lake.

Here are a couple of shots of Tony taking the high road over one of the water crossings.

Once we reached our destination the first order of business was starting a fire.

Plenty of knives where past around for testing and comparison.

A warm beverage and lots of good comradeship was shared.

I was amazed how well they helped him move along the treacherous traverse.

I had a great time; it’s always good to hike with Tony and Marcelo.

What knife is that on the bottom right ? ... it keeps catching my eye.

That is a bushcraft knife made by Landar15. It belongs to Marcelo, but I was luck enough to pick one up in black micarta. It is comfortable as hell to use and has a perfect cutting convex edge. It is one of my favorite knives:thumbup:

Hey that was my Bear Grylls impersonation:cool:

To make it a real Bear Grylls experience you have to get a pic of someonelse next to the opstical, to show how dangerous it was:D

I don't think I will sell that one, but your more than welcome to borrow it. It is not as pretty as Marcello's wood one, but I really like it.

I haven't used it in awhile since Jwilliams has had it forever:(, but I can have him send it to you to borrow when he's done with it. You just have to give it back to me sharp, thats the only rule:)

Take care,

Tony

Spring has sprung here - 72 and sunny, and it's only a little after noon. Just got home from my morning walk. There are crocuses, hyacinths, forsythias, and of course dandelions blooming everywhere you look.

Great pics Mike!! It's great that you guys get to meet up and enjoy fire, knives, and wood in good company.

I'm happy to see that blue HWK being used:thumbup: Looks like you guys had a great time. We're also planning a get together outing here in California. It would be nice to meet some of the WSS guys.

That's very generous of you T  ... I might just have to take you up on the offer :D
No rush though let Jake do his thing with it.

FIRST

Thanks for using a pichosting site that is not blocked for me:thumbup:;)

Second what is the blade 5th from the left sticking in the picnic table with the hollow pins and curley handle. Can see the nice convex edge!:D

Ray, that’s a sweet knife.

I love that blade shape and that handle fits well in my large hand.

Very nice work my friend. :D
