Hold on....I'm going to get some popcorn.

All kidding aside, did you call Spyderco CS and have a bad experience? From your post, it would seem you looking for advice. The title of your thread suggest otherwise.

Go to Home Depot and grab that $7 Torx screwdriver set. It will be cheaper in the long run than sending it to Spyderco for pivot adjustments. You will also use that tool for many other brands of knives that use Torx screws.

Nothing good comes with a sarcastic thread title like that. Honestly, considering (IMO) it seems like you did it knowing what had been going on here lately, what's the point? You're not exacly crying wolf, but you're not that far from it either.

If you wanted advice on the pivot you just should have titled the thread as such and people here would have been glad to give it to you.

yeah well it was sarcasm.....haven't even tried to call CS, come on people get a sense of humor.......if the sarcasm is not obvious from my first three words you have problems....but i have a torx set i just didn't know what to adjust besides the pivot screw itself

thats it...just the pivot screw and you are set...you could also get some lock tite (the blue one) to keep it in the "perfect" spot once you have found it.

well i guess it needs to be wore in a bit more because the one i tried out at my knife shop was quite a bit smoother/easier....i didn't know if one of the screws adjusted lock tension....BUT sorry to those i offened and thanks to those who helped

Yeah, I could tell it was sarcasm, that wasn't the problem. Rather, my problem is that it was not clever or funny, just annoying and dishonest, taking advantage of something that people have put to honest discussions over the past few weeks here. That's the end of what I care to say about it.

Just a little piece of advice Spark gave me recently concerning Thread Titles,
Think Twice, Post Once.

Ok ok, hopefully he has the message and it was an honest humor malfunction...I may have had a few of those myself.

Sometimes a spa treatment is in order if tiny flakes of metal got into the pivot area during production.

Spray pivot with WD-40. Then get an old toothbrush and scrub the pivot area with soap and cold water...the colder the better. Shake dry, blast with hair dryer, or air compressor. Lube with lube of choice. Any normal lube will do. I use breakfree only because I have a giant spray can of it. Sit down and watch tv and work pivot a hundred times to break in. Should be broken in by then. ;)

I think some of you are being overly sensitive. He made it clear in the first post that it was a joke and all he wanted was some advice about making the pivot loosen a bit. I have seen tons of threads like this (and even posted some myself) and no one was upset.

if the title gets you this upset, you need to get off the computer every once in a while......this title, i hope, caused no emotional damage to anyone but i feel like i'm getting the third degree for a TITLE ON A THREAD IN A FORUM........i mean if i hurt people's outlook on spyderco, that wasn't the pupose.....geez, who knew this keyboard had so much power, and if you pick a knife soley based on online heresay you will be suprememely dissapointed.....

got my attention. s'posed to, right? I was relieved to find it was a joke. Made me smile.......that's better than a frown, right?

A very slight loosening of the main pivot should give you the abiity to adjust it, to a point.

Try not to be too sensitive on this issue. We get many many knives back for a multitude of reasons. Charlynne stays on it. Once in a while, someone with a keyboard makes it sound as if it's an epidemic. No so. We have many thousands of very happy customers that like our customer service.

The guy with the broken BG Military has yet to send it in. He was very quick with his posts and pictures.

We extend our best effort to conduct business in an honest, fair and proper manner. We all work for you and we try hard to please you.

These posts by sal that show he is actually among the people are what made me decide to buy a spyderco...and the fact that many are pleased with his "stay to his word" warranty....and since he finds my title it a little humorous everyone elso should too..... but i highly doubt you'll pry this knife out of my hand anytime soon so don't expect it in the mail till the wheels fall off(but i'll probably still keep it then)....this knife feels much more solid then any of my bucks, benchs, cases, crkts, or sogs......i thought FRN was fancy for plastic, but it feels like some tough stuff...back to the point, pivot is adjusted and i am breaking it in now....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK and i'll do my part to help to pay the bills up there in Spyderco land

Humor noted. I wonder how many people that could have given you advice simply skipped your thread like I did the first dozen times I saw it?

Ditto what Yab laid down. I would have been here sooner for advice if I knew the question.

On topic:

You might try just carrying it around and opening and closing it repeatedly all day or for a few hours. Eventually, it will loosen up and wear in with use. If you want potentially immediate results, adjusting the pivot and cleaning and oiling the area should make some difference.

I'll bet your one of those jokers who left white power on their bosses desk after the anthrax scare.
Your sense of humor isn't mature. You might get a good laugh out of punching someone in the face or telling them their children are dieing but you're just not funny, you've got an attitude problem!
And by the way, you're lucky that there are enough guys around here that still nice enough to answer to answer your question!
I wouldn't give you the time of day.
