Another survival quiz

Field and Stream really needs a new person to make up their quizzes. Besides the fact that numerous questions have two right answers, like the one about the watch, you also have questions like the one about stopping to assess if you need to put on more clothing. If you are going to have a quiz, don't have questions that are poorly worded and are just based on someones opinion. Of course I also don't know where you are going to get butter from in the wild. My dad said you just had to milk a bear and then churn it into butter. Sounds interesting.

Stupid drink cold water f---ing question. 60% "Stick to camping in your backyard"
I need to go hit something.

I stopped after the third question. Most of them are opinion and hardly make sense.

Stupid drink cold water f---ing question. 60% "Stick to camping in your backyard"
I need to go hit something.

That one threw me also. So your body has to warm up the water to body heat but I wasn't sure if that meant that then you didn't drink any water? IMO dehydration would be worse.

I got 90 percent. But that doesn't prove anything. There is a difference between a quiz and the real thing. The real tests come when you go out in the woods.

Some were worded bad, just use your head, and common sense in a REAL situation.

Once again I got every answer right. Last time I got 17, now I got 90. Not my fault Field & Stream gets their own questions wrong.:p

The knife quiz is easy as long as your ideal knife is a Mora and you learned everything you know from Mors Kochanski. That is another quiz with way too much opinion, especially about what is the ideal grind and handle shape.

should you-

A. cut towards your chest
B. cut into you leg
C. cut away from your knee... does that mean the foot?

D. dont cut towards yourself!
E. Go back to Starbucks where the knives are plastic! :D

That was a really terribly bad quiz, for sure. Too many questions with multiple right answers and opinionated biased answers. Not to mention it made no mention of a ton of much more important things.

Beat the tip of a Mora 3-4 inches into a 6" diameter tree as a "first step?"

I don't think many Moras have a handled that could, well, handle that !

.

What I meant when I said Mora was that the ideal knife according to the quiz is a knife with a scandi grind and an oval handle.
