Ok, John came up with another great desgin recently and I could not help myself! This is his Early Hunter, I had him leave the blade a bit rough so you could still see some of the forge scale on it. The hande is maple, and uber comfortable. It seemed a bit large at first (even with big hands), but after playing with it and messing around it really feels great, super easy to hold on to for doing small tasks. One hell of a knife!

That looks real nice, you will find a large handle such as that really comes into it's own during proplonged use.....much better than a handle that's too small !!!!

I`m glad it got there so quick, I just mailed it Saturday. The last one I sent to Connecticut, went there via Reno Nevada:eek: It took over a week.

Conneeticut via Reno!!! How does that even make sense hahaha

good looking knife. how many JK's are you up to now?

hahahaha, um....I plead the 5th! I keep falling off the wagon when it comes to buying knives, just when I think I'm good and I'll be able to stick to it John comes up with something pushes me right off. This one makes 5, with one in process of being made. (a baby kephart, the design that I sent John and he is graciously giving away for the contest. Have to feel it in my hands after drawing it on paper!!:) ) I never intended to collect John's knives...I hate that word when it comes to knives... to me a collection is something you put in a case and look at. I do my best to use everything I have. But he really makes such damn fine blades I can't help myself sometimes. I also love giving makers feedback, and you bet John really pays attention to what people say and it shows. That is not to say I don't patronize other makers, just not as frequently. Now if I would only spend this much time working on my own knives I'd have one done by now! lol I apologize again if I end up soundling like and advertisment, I swear I'm not, I just love sharing pics and getting the word out on a good thing!

i am looking forward to seeing (or winning hopefully:o) the baby kephart design.

oh, and dont worry, your weekness for knives is understandable.

A few years ago my dad ordered some guitar pedal or something(hes a gear geek) and it shipped from somewhere on the East Coast I believe. It made it to Dallas(an hour away) then went up to St. Louis and then down to Tyler. Whooo knoooows
