Just wanting to show off my TGLB I got back from the shop yesterday after having a Competition finish put on it (it was originally Tanker grey). Just in time for The Walking Dead tonight too:D I absolutely love the CF on the TGLB. Tanker is great too but the CF and the TGLB are just made for each other. I'm hoping to scrounge up enough cash for a 2nd TGLB before they disappear (thinking of going a black/tan G10 and CF if I get a 2nd). Here are some crappy cell phone pics I took yesterday. I'll try to get some better pics up soon.

The shop received the knife on 1/21 and I got the knife back in my hands yesterday so just a tad over a month.

Love my CF TGLB with hand shaped black canvas:thumbup:

I ordered the tanker grey originally, but it was too dark for me. I went the other route, sold it and bought another one :) 'cept I screwed up and forgot to order a sheath with the second one, d'oh!

I think my first one had black paper handles, my new one has black and tan g-10, very nice combo... but then again, it's pretty hard to go wrong with any of them...

I love the CF, it's like it's brand new, but already has some character. Plus it's fun to try and guess what the little marks are from, mostly the cut lines and positioning marks form the CNC machine, I'd guess.

I'm planning on ordering one sometime this week and I was wondering what CF was.. is it satin or what. I was also wondering how durable is this finish compared to the coatings.. will it rust easier than the coatings?

It's a rough unfinished blade with tool marks and dimples. It does get some bead blasting to remove the decarb. The coated blades are more rust resistant.

so it is just coating removed + bead blasting
is it possible to order one and have Busse remove coating and make it satin (more polished look)?

Just curious, is there an upcharge for competition finish when ordering from Busse?

It's bead blasted along the spine and in the fuller. The rest of the blade is bare INFI.

I don't think they do any satin TGLB's.

As much as I love a satin finish on a blade, the machine marks on the hollow grind of a CF TGLB just gives the knife a ton of character.
