Another thread about boots

For me i love the low and light type of boots. I feel that i can move easier in them when i scram up some rocks or dry water falls. Never had a twisted ankle yet. I do pay attention on where and how i walk. Always keep my knees slightly bend as a habit and if i know im going up to rocks i use my walking stick realy helps alot.

Y'all will probably think I'm nuts, but I follow squirrel dogs and coon dogs in the deep south, which usually means - swampy - and I have worn out my share of boots. I always go back and get the same kind: Lacrosse Burly knee high boots. I have walked many miles in those, through all sorts of terrain.

I usually end up doing more walking while coon hunting, so when I go I carry a 6 foot long cane walking stick. When coon hunting, you go where the dogs go, and most times thats further away than you hoped for. Dogs can go a long ways.

I'm sure there are some fine leather or whatever else kind of boots around, but I likes dry feet. And lacrosse has provided me with dry feet for a long time.

I like my Rocky Ranger for cold weather & waterproof. The rest of the time its my Wolverine whitetail hunters, I think they are only about 3lbs per pair & have scentlok & 200grams of thinsulate & waterproof ! These boots are just like wearing hi-top sneakers ;)
