Another Tin Chirra/three-fuller Khukuri...

There are several down under buyers here and i would think you folk should go in on an order....you would think there would be SOME saving involved in having 3-4 shipped over a single....but, of course, i am usually wrong about things, so no sense in trying to be different, now...

Auntie has no problem to package few kuks in the same box. Certainly lower the price of shipping per unit. I've done it numerous times.

That should certainly be good news for some posters, especially those known already to be buyers and not frauds....but also would take a well known honest buyer who would wish/risk being recipient and wanting to deal with distribution after arrival and possibilty of being stuck with merchandise, as well as folk trusting him with their money and knives.

I am not wanting to run this thread into the ground, but the more i look at this tin chirra, the more i like both in looks and hand....and also wanted to note the blade may be full, but it still has a long pointiness not apparent in photos, and a very classic look it is....wish i could bring that aspect out with the camera.

That's a nice blade you have alright. I hope my chin turns out to be as nice as yours. Its also done by Thamar so should be good :)
Im in for a long 1-2 weeks wait...ill just have to look at yours till then :D

It is taking some adjustment compared to an Ang Khola or WWII.....quite different....those have a straightforward feel even if they are front heavy and droop.....a thinner longer feel in hand....this one feels more massive and tucked in, with larger diameter handle and also shorter due to arch, which the more i handle the handle, the more i want to handle....it is a truly effective kukhuri but takes learning all over compared to others of my experience....i wanted exotic and i got it and i like it....had it with me in the car today and pulled over and parked just to handle it and admire it....

I am figuring out why it feels so front heavy, and aside from the 31oz weight....the curve shifts the balance.....duh.....

Including when raising knife to strike, most kukhuris i have played with started to "get light" well before being raised to vertical with balance shifting back past vertical sooner than knife blade....

This constant curve knife is exact opposite and feels front heavy all the way to vertical and perhaps beyond, which accentuates the blade heavy feel....slow on the upstroke but really raring to go on the downstroke....and with mucho momentum....a real wood blaster with minimal added muscle power and taking full advantage of gravity being free....and this particular hefty version much more oriented for vertical strokes....it wants to shine high above others in that respect such as Twinkle the little star...
