Mark,
I didn't know your friend, Tim Cross, or James Steele, as I'm rather new here. But, since I experienced the death of my Father last summer, I know what it means to feel that type of hurt and emptiness. You will never forget your friends, and it will be hard when you think of them for a long while. Things will get better, though, as I have found; it just takes time. Take care and God bless.

Mark,
For what it's worth please express my condolences to Tim's family and friends...I am truly sorry to hear you lost a friend. In a situation as this nothing can be said to make you or friend's family feel better, it is important however to remember him as the friend he was to you. It is my belief he is in a better place and I'm sure he made his mark in this lifetime.

Mark,
There is an old song that says “When I reach the cross of my silent sea, who will sing one song for me?” You have done that well for your friends. That we might all have someone like you. I felt I knew Ti from his posts. I share in your sorrow.

It seems especially unfair, when somebody doesn't get close to three score and ten before the angel of death comes along.

My condolances . . . .

A life stopped short is a tragic thing.
Life will never be the same after we lose a
friend. I lost my brother, my best friend.
We can move to a greater appreciation of life, and our lives, even thru a death. Sort out and savour the good feelings, they are proof of a quality friendship, and worth holding onto. My heart feels for you.

Mark,
I saw a post by Steele about how you were the one to get him started with knives and collecting them. You must have great memories of your times with Steele and Ti, just shooting the bull about knives and life in general. When you remember those times and smile, your friends live on in you.

"Home is the Hunter, home from the hill."

Sorry to hear of your loss, I just lost my mother two weeks ago and know the empty feeling that seems to engulf your whole being. We must remember the good times we had with them, for as long as we do they will never really leave us.
Grieve not for your friend, for he is now at rest, but grieve for yourself and his family as death is much harder for those of us who are left behind.
God bless.

Mark:

Please forgive my tardiness in adding my condolences to the others for not only your loss, but to the loss to the knife community as a whole.

Please read my post in the "Knife Knuts of Ohio..." thread as well.

The deed is everything, the glory nothing.

Please accept my condolences. I know how it hurts to lose a friend.

"Cry not for the departed, for they are at peace. Tears are for the living, who must go on without them."

Grieve for awhile, friend, then honor their memory by living long and fruitful. Life goes on.....

Take care.
