Went out into the sticks again with the fellers, but we only brought a couple of knives along.

It was a great time filled with knife envy. BruceW, Dunner, River 8, and Bill Siegle chat around the fire.

A few more knife pics.

BruceW just got a new Siegle blade to add to his arsenal.

Here it is with his Crash Rat after seeing some use.

That sure does like it was alot of fun! Great pics with great knives! Thnx for sharing:cool:

I like that Siegle.

Impression of the FBM LE as a chopper?

The LE is an Excellent chopper!!! My #64 pictured... didn't find it to be significantly more tiring to use than my CGFBM. It's a pleasure to use :D. That said the CG gets TONS of work done too. As does that Siegle ;)

Nice pictures.....

It looks like you cheated and brought along an Axe/Hatchet though. ;)

And to think you claim to like chopping with a LMS. :D

Dunner, as I recall, you got a Bill Siegal last year.. How has that worked out?? I know they are well made, but how do you like it??

I love my Siegle "Solo"! He had just settled on a name for it around Blade West time last year. 8" or so with a gentle recurve and balance forward. I use it clearing and limbing around the house and take it out in the sticks from time to time. Very comfy, good heavy chopper and still good on the small stuff.

You might have covered this in a previous post, but I can't help but notice the handle mods on this one. Who did all that for you? How does it compare to the origianl config while in use, assuming you used it before the mods?

I'm sure River-8 will be along soon but I will go ahead and steal some of this thunder lol... He sent that in to Busse for the mod on the pommel and he contoured the slabs. It feels AWESOME. It seems to have moved the balance forward and it just wants to chop. Comfort at the back of the handle hasn't been changed a bit. River-8 did an awesome job on the mod design and handle customization.

I was pretty surprised by how comparable the FBM CG and FBM LE were in weight. I fully expected the LE to be much heavier. Maybe the coating makes that much difference.

It was great to have the opportunity to use these blades.

There's another post out there that compared the weight of a couple of peoples LEs and CGs. Seems like about 3 ounces overall difference. The CG also has more weight forward, so it sounds like that also makes them feel a little more similar.

is the Siegle blade coated???

Looks almost Black

I have several of his knives--all first rate.

:)

Here's a pic of my Solo. Great knife . Has a nice satin finish and came with a great sheath. The finish is much finer that it appears in the pic...there is a little oil and crud smudged on it in this pic.

That Siegle is BruceW's and I think is called the Jungle Knife.
